For this year’s Cancer Prevention Action Week, we’re looking at processed meat and taking to the streets to find out what people know about the cancer risks.
> Nearly half of Brits are unaware that processed meat could increase your risk of bowel cancer
Want to know why we’re focussing on processed meat and what you can do?
1. Read our blog: what is processed meat and why the big deal?
2. Take part in the Great British Sarnie Swap
3. Commit to cutting back on processed meat
4. Download and share our factsheet all about processed meat (PDF 200KB)
5. Take our quiz to test your knowledge
6. Use our toolkit to share the messages
Cancer Prevention Action Week 2023 is an annual event where we raise awareness of cancer and cancer prevention, and encourage you to take action.
About 1,100 people are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK, but 40% of all cancer cases could be prevented.
Knowing what you need to do and making small, consistent changes to the lives of you and your loved ones can help you avoid preventable cancers.
Huge thanks to the following for their support of this year’s campaign.

One in two people in the UK will develop cancer in their lifetime. Every gift we receive, whether big or small, helps us achieve our vision of living in a world where no one develops a preventable cancer.
