In 2009 the WCRF global network produced the Policy Report: Policy and Action for Cancer Prevention – Food, Nutrition and Physical Activity: a Global Perspective.

The Policy Report is a companion to the 2007 WCRF Expert Report, and is concerned with achieving its goal of reducing cancer risk around the world by addressing the external factors that shape the way people choose to eat and live. It sets out 48 Recommendations for Action for 9 different groups identified as having responsibilities for helping the public to follow the Expert Report's Recommendations for Cancer Prevention. These 'actor' groups are:

  • Civil society organisations
  • Government
  • Multinational bodies
  • Industry
  • Media
  • Schools
  • Workplaces and institutions
  • Health and other professionals
  • People
