Fruit and nuts
Fruit and nuts

Dried fruit and nuts make a healthier snack than crisps or chocolate and are just as tasty! Here are some of my favourite...
Almonds
Brazil nuts
Cashew nuts
Peanuts
Raisins
Walnuts
Mixed fruit and nuts
TAKE CARE: Some people are allergic to nuts. Check with your family that it's ok for you to eat nuts before you try this snack.
Very young children should not eat nuts in case of choking.
Almonds

Almonds are sometimes sold sliced or ground. They are used to make lots of desserts, including marzipan.
Brazil nuts

Can you guess how Brazil nuts got their name?
That's right – they grow in Brazil! They have a sweet, milky taste and are used mainly in desserts.
Cashew nuts

Cashew nuts grow in tropical countries like India, and are often used in curries and stir fries.
Peanuts

Peanuts are a good source of protein, which helps your body grow, though only have a handful as they are quite high in fat. Avoid salted peanuts, which are not so good for you.
Walnuts

You need a nut cracker to get walnuts out of their shells! They are often eaten at Christmas time.
Mixed fruit and nuts

This is my favourite nutty snack – everything mixed together!
