In general, any information provided to the Great Grub Club website will only be used by the Great Grub Club (run by WCRF UK) and will never be given to anyone else without consent. The exception to this is when we are obliged or permitted by law to disclose it. We will not use personal information for any other purpose than that stated when it was obtained and we will not pass this information to a third party.
We stipulate that children (aged 16 or under) need permission from a parent or guardian before providing us with any personal information. Without this consent, we cannot accept personal details. If a child wants to send us a picture, letter or joke, or wants to enter any of the competitions we are running, they must get permission from a parent or guardian.
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.
General information
The Great Grub Club website is produced by World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF UK) as part of our children's education programme. The website is primarily aimed at 4-11 year olds and strives to encourage healthy eating and an active lifestyle in a fun and informative way. We hope that by visiting our interactive site, children will become familiar with healthy living messages and develop positive habits that will follow them through to adulthood.
Scientific research shows that about a third of the most common cancers could be prevented if we eat healthily, maintain a healthy weight and lead an active lifestyle. Due to the age of the target audience, the Great Grub Club website does not refer to the link between healthy living and cancer prevention, except for in the Teachers and Parents sections. It is our long-term goal that children will be encouraged to lead a healthy lifestyle that could help reduce their risk of cancer in the future.
