Decorate plant pots

Getting ready

Eating lots of plant foods helps us to be healthy. Try decorating your own plant pot!

You will need:

  • plant pot (earthenware or plastic)

  • brightly coloured acrylic paint

  • PVA glue

  • paintbrushes

  • newspaper

Remember!
Lay out some newspaper before you begin. Painting can be messy!

Step 1

First, mix some paint with a bit of PVA glue.

Then paint the pot all over in one colour.

You might need to do two coats.

Step 2

When the pot is dry, carefully paint on your design.

Now leave the painted pot to dry completely.

Finally, put a herb plant in the pot, or fill it with soil and plant some seeds.

If you can, decorate more than one pot and try growing your own vegetables!
